What is D GRANDE?

In Texas, Tex-Mex surrounds you.

It’s comforting, addictive, and always served with a healthy pour of a margarita.

We’re Texans who made London home but refused to leave our cravings behind.

Which is where D GRANDE came about: Our mission is to bring true Tex-Mex to London. Frozen margaritas, delicious queso, and all the bold (and spicy!) flavors we grew up on. Sorry, London, we needed to bring the spice.

D GRANDE means “Big D” in Spanish, a nod to Dallas, Texas. Dallas is where Tex-Mex legends were born: the frozen margarita machine, the brisket taco, and countless classic joints that shaped our menu.

And while Tex-Mex itself has a long history of cultural mash-ups and culinary genius, our goal is simple: to serve London the Tex-Mex we love most.

Come hungry. Leave converted.

Meet the duo that started it all

Richard and Ashley Burghardt, Owners

Two Texans, both hopelessly homesick for real Tex-Mex in London. One (Richard) couldn’t stop daydreaming about queso (seriously, it was a daily obsession!). Eventually, they looked at each other and said, You know what? Let’s just do it ourselves.

So they did.

In 2020, because apparently launching a restaurant during a global pandemic is the Texas way of saying go big or go home,” they opened D GRANDE in Chiswick. What started as an idea (and a massive craving) quickly turned into a local favourite.

Fueled by genuine Texas roots and a mission to serve proper Tex-Mex in London, D GRANDE is their love letter to the food they grew up with, and an open invitation for Londoners to discover what all the fuss is about.

Come for the margaritas. Stay for the queso. Leave planning your next visit.
